Air Force Academy : "The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, completed in 1962, is the distinguishing feature of the Cadet Area at the United States Air Force Academy. It was designed by renowned architect Walter Netsch of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of Chicago. Construction was accomplished by Robert E. McKee, Inc., of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally controversial in its design, the Cadet Chapel has become a classic and highly regarded example of modernist architecture. The Cadet Chapel was awarded the American Institute of Architects' National 25 Year Award in 1996, and as part of the Cadet Area, was named a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 2004." Colorado Railroad Museum (September 2009) : "The mission of the Colorado Railroad Museum is to acquire, preserve and exhibit to the general public, railroad equipment, artifacts, paper records, books, art work and photographs emphasizing Rocky Mountain area railroads, to explain and interpret the role of railroads in the history of this region from the 1860’s to the present by means of exhibits, a reference library, educational programs, publications and information sharing with other historical groups. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre (September 2009) : "Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills fifteen miles west of Denver, there stands a symbol of nature's unparalleled majesty. Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. Red Bull Soapbox Derby (October 2008) : 2008 Red Bull Soapbox Derby at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO. A very trying day all around, as you can see from the first few photos, LOTS of people showed, the backups on the highway exits were very very long. I think they were expecting a few thousand people to show up and got a few times that. A lot of us walked up to the location from the car park at Bandimere Speedway, about 2.5 miles uphill all the way. On location due to the huge crowd and very changable lighting from clouds and being in more of a small canyon you were sometimes likely to get more than a few seconds of the entrants going by. Not the most productive day, I have more photos but lots of them are repeats of the same entries going by.
